The ID-8 is the top of the line dialer with 8 independent alarm channels and an LCD display.
Modular design with three plug in boards which would allow replacement of boards at site vs. returning the unit.
Each chip (IC) in the system is also plugged into a gold plated IC socket, so it is not necessary to return the entire system for repair or upgrade of programs or replacements of IC's.
Each input is optically coupled to the system (not directly coupled)
The input alarm board can be replaced in a short period of time if the system receives a high voltage surge which destroys the optoisolators or other components.
The telephone circuit is protected by a sidactor which has the ability to absorb 330 to 600 volts and 150 amps. (this product was not available several years ago). Our system incorporates the latest technology available.
The ID-8 can dial 8 or 16 different phone numbers, 16 digits per number. These telephone numbers are stored in non-volatile memory.
The ID-8 can call a telephone number and deliver a voice message, call a pager and input a three digit code and the active alarm(s), and optionally call a printer receiver and log the time, date, location, and alarm codes. The printer receiver has dual RS 232 ports for data transfer to a computer.
The eight by-pass switches have corresponding LED's which show at a glance which channels are by-passed. It is unnecessary to remove wires to disable an alarm trip circuit.
You are able to remotely program the system from any touch tone telephone system. You may remotely program the system from up to 100 feet from the system, which would allow the operator to remove the programming into a quieter location and not remove the entire unit from service. This also, allows the removal of the system which inputs data into the system. This will prevent unauthorized personnel from entering or adjusting entered data on the ID-8.
You may remotely interrogate the system as to status of the alarms being monitored.
The acknowledge feature of the ID-8 requires a two digit customer ID number to acknowledge the system. The supervisor may review the last 8 (eight) personal ID numbers which have acknowledged the system. This provides an audit trace of who acknowledged the call.
A two line LCD display will present the name of the alarm and the type of contact (N/O or N/C). The time delay in minutes or seconds and the numeric number which describes the time delay is also shown. In addition, the actual name of the corresponding alarm (up to 16 digits) is displayed on the second line.
The system also has an auxiliary relay which can trip another relay and turn on a light or bell. (under program control).
The ID-8 offers the ability to display all time delay values on the LCD display.
The quality of speech in the system is comparable to a telephone conversation. The customer may enter any sound, language or unusual name with no limit on vocabulary.
All programming is done by telephone hand-set. Special tools or equipment are not required.
The system is controlled and operated by a microprocessor. This processor is plugged into a gold plated IC socket (40 pins). This allows the system operation to be changed via a swap out microprocessor should the needs of the customer change significantly.
The relay which trips when the system goes into alarm is available only on the ID-8.
The customer may select to dial or not to dial any of the 16 telephone numbers stored in the ID-8.
There is an factory installed option which sets up the system to dial telephone sequence one during the day and telephone sequence two at night. This is available on the 8 number dialing at no additional charge.
Custom programming of the ID-8 microprocessor could offer the customer a considerable advantage over other units because the customer may be able to update the system to meet their special needs or requirements as conditions change. Custom programming is a one time charge. Additional orders of the same change are not generally charged.
