ID-4 Start Up and Training

The enclosure is typically shipped to the job site and installed by the customer with the required conduit and alarm circuits as described below. The start-up personnel will generally bring the ID-4 system at the time of start-up.

Complete installation is available at additional cost, if desired by the customer

Items covered in start-up and training:

  1. Transportation, food, and lodging for start-up person(s) to and from start-up location and during training are to be provided.

  2. Customer furnishes previously run and previously identified and marked alarm wire pairs for each trip circuit being monitored. Wires should be run inside conduit from alarm location to inside ID-4 enclosure. Wires should be four feet long inside ID-4 enclosure. Wire size preferred 18 to 22 gauge twisted wire pair. The length of run would determine the wire size selected.

  3. Start-up personnel will make the physical connections of the alarm pairs to the appropriate ID-4 terminal block, in addition to setup and checkout of the ID-4 system.

  4. Training of the customer in the operation and proper use of the ID-4 system will include:
    a. How to install and change telephone numbers
    b. How to install and change alarm messages
    c. How to setup and operate ID codes
    d. How to access the ID-4 from a remote location

  5. Operational checkout of alarm contacts and the ID-4 system to ensure proper operation will be performed by the start-up personnel. The proper operation of the alarm devices and related wiring is the responsibility of the customer.

  6. The physical hookup of the alarm contacts generally requires less than one hour. The balance of the day is spent in operational checkout of the system and familiarizing the customer with the operation and capabilities of the ID-4 system. One day is generally sufficient time for training and installation as defined above.
